The CSSE acts within the law in the handling of your personal data. We hold only the information you supply on application and the subsequent test results. The data is collected with industry-standard encryption and processed securely for the purpose of administering access to the schools which are members of the CSSE.

It is our duty to ensure that the data we hold is accurate, proportionate and retained only for as long as is necessary.
The legal basis for processing your data is public interest.
Your data and your child’s data relating to the 11+ examination will be shared with the Local Authorities that administer the admissions process on behalf of the consortium schools and with the schools in the consortium. Information about Access Arrangements can be shared with our Educational Psychologist.
Data will also be processed for the purposes of producing statistical information.
You have the right of access to your own records. You have the right to request that your record is corrected (rectified), if there is any error. If you have an over-riding legitimate reason, you may object and exercise the right to have your data deleted. The Data Controller is the CSSE.

Personal 11+ data is retained for no longer than two years after the date of the test for which you have registered.

Personal data collected for the purpose of transport enquiries or ticket issue is shared with the bus companies. It is retained by the CSSE for no longer than two years after the date of the last enquiry or ticket expiry.

In Short:  We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering at the Services expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when participating in activities on the Services or otherwise contacting us.

  1. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short:  We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). No purpose in this policy will require us keeping your personal information for longer than 2 years past the start of idle period of the user’s account.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk.   1. DATA BREACH

A privacy breach occurs when there is unauthorized access to or collection, use, disclosure or disposal of personal information. You will be notified about data breaches when The Consortium Of Selective Schools In Essex believes you are likely to be at risk or serious harm. For example, a data breach may be likely to result in serious financial harm or harm to your mental or physical well-being. In the event that The Consortium Of Selective Schools In Essex becomes aware of a security breach which has resulted or may result in unauthorized access, use or disclosure of personal information The Consortium Of Selective Schools In Essex will promptly investigate the matter and notify the applicable Supervisory Authority not later than 72 hours after having become aware of it, unless the personal data breach is unlikely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons.

 

  1. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. No uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy policy.

In Short:  Yes, we will update this policy as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
